The difference between Viagra and Sildenafil

Sildenafil is the generic version of Viagra®. This means that both medications contain the same active ingredient: sildenafil citrate. They are therefore equally effective.

The biggest difference is the price. Sildenafil can be up to 80% cheaper. This is because the patent on Viagra® has expired. This now allows other pharmaceutical companies to also produce this active ingredient. More competition leads to lower prices.
