What is the difference between Wegovy and Ozempic?

Both contain semaglutide. The difference is in the registration and the maximum dose, and why we are moving to Wegovy.

Wegovy and Ozempic contain the same active substance: semaglutide. The difference is what the medicine is registered for. And how high you can dose.

Why are we moving to Wegovy?

  • It fits your goal better. Wegovy is made for weight management. Ozempic is primarily a diabetes medicine.

  • More room to build up. With Wegovy the dose can go higher. That helps you reach your target weight.

  • Your body already knows the substance. You keep using the same active substance. So the switch is small.

  • At the same strength you pay the same per 4 weeks. Current prices are on our Wegovy page.

Ozempic will no longer be available through us in the future.

What does this mean for my dose?

Does the switch apply to you? Then you will get an email from us. It contains a proposal that matches your current dose. You choose whether you switch.

You can choose up until your shipping date. After that you always get a confirmation email.
