Applies to Wegovy pens in the Netherlands and Belgium. We still ship Mounjaro, Ozempic and orders to Germany chilled.
Since April 2026, the official Wegovy product information states that a new pen may be delivered without cooling for up to 48 hours, at a maximum temperature of 30 °C. That is why we ship Wegovy without a cooling element and without the wool cooling pouch. The quality of your pen and the expiry date on the box stay the same.
We also tested this ourselves, with temperature loggers in test parcels. At an outside temperature of around 20 °C, the inside of the parcel stayed well below 25 °C for the full 48 hours.
The leaflet says 2 to 8 °C. How does that fit?
That is about storage, and that does not change. At home, keep the pen in the fridge as always, between 2 and 8 °C. The 48 hours only applies to delivery, from the pharmacy to you.
What do I do when my parcel arrives?
Put the pen in the fridge straight away, in its original box.
Keep it there as always, between 2 and 8 °C.
Before each use, check that the liquid is clear and colourless.

Collect it the same day and put the pen in the fridge straight away. Collecting the parcel on time is your responsibility as the recipient.
My parcel was on its way for more than 48 hours
We only ship without cooling when it is not warmer than 20 °C, so your pen stays well below 30 °C. If the liquid is clear and colourless, you can still use the pen for up to 6 weeks. That is more than enough for the 4 doses it contains. Put it in the fridge in this case too. In doubt? Email us at [email protected] and we will look at your parcel together.
I received several pens at once and my parcel was on its way for more than 48 hours
Use the first pen as described above: if the liquid is clear and colourless, you can still use it for up to 6 weeks. For your other pens, that is too short. Do not use them and contact us at [email protected]. We will work with you to find a solution.
My pen feels cold. Is it frozen?
Feeling cold is normal in winter. Frozen is something else: do you see ice or crystals, is the liquid cloudy, or was the parcel left outside or in a car while it was freezing? Then do not use the pen. Email a photo of the pen with the batch number to [email protected]. We will work with you to find a solution.
It is warm outside. Will my Wegovy still arrive without cooling?
No. If it is warmer than 20 °C, we do add a cooling pouch and a cooling element.
Can I get a cooling element anyway?
We decide per day, based on the temperature, how we ship. That way we guarantee the safety of all shipments. On warm days we add the cooling element automatically. We cannot make individual exceptions.
Are you doing this to save costs?
We only do it because it fits within the official Wegovy product information. It saves packaging and waste, and yes, costs too.
Does this apply to other medication?
No. We still ship Mounjaro and Ozempic chilled.
