Administration Guide

Mounjaro (tirzepatide) is administered as a once-weekly subcutaneous (under the skin) injection, on the same day each week, at any time of day, with or without food.

  • Recommended Injection Sites: Abdomen (at least 5 cm away from the navel), thigh, or upper arm. Rotate your injection site every week.

  • Preparation: Wash your hands thoroughly, check that the liquid is clear and colorless, and clean the injection area. Always attach a new, sterile needle.

Dose Escalation Schedule

To allow your body to adapt comfortably to the dual GLP-1/GIP mechanism and minimize digestive side effects (such as nausea), the dosage is gradually increased:

  • Month 1 (Weeks 1–4): Starting dose of 2.5 mg weekly.

  • Month 2 (Weeks 5–8): 5 mg weekly.

  • Gradual Adjustments: If needed, the dose may be increased in 2.5 mg increments (7.5 mg, 10 mg, 12.5 mg, up to a maximum dose of 15 mg weekly).

Note: Our doctors and medical team closely monitor your progress to determine whether stepping up to the next dose level is appropriate.

Storage and Handling

  • Unopened Pen: Store in the refrigerator between 2°C and 8°C (36°F to 46°F). Do not freeze.

  • Pen in Use: Can be kept at room temperature (up to 30°C / 86°F) for up to 30 days, kept out of direct sunlight.
