Administration Guide
Wegovy is administered as a once-weekly subcutaneous (under the skin) injection, on the same day every week, at any time of day, with or without food.
Recommended Injection Sites: Abdomen (staying at least 5 cm away from the navel), thigh, or upper arm. Rotate your injection site each week.
Preparation: Wash your hands thoroughly and clean the injection area. Always attach a new, sterile needle for every injection.
Dose Escalation Schedule
To help your body adjust comfortably to the medication and reduce potential digestive side effects (such as nausea), the dose is gradually increased over several months:
Month 1 (Weeks 1–4): 0.25 mg weekly
Month 2 (Weeks 5–8): 0.5 mg weekly
Month 3 (Weeks 9–12): 1.0 mg weekly
Month 4 (Weeks 13–16): 1.7 mg weekly
Month 5 onwards (Maintenance Dose): 2.4 mg weekly
Note: Your healthcare provider or the Wellis medical team will determine when it is appropriate to progress to the next dose level.
Storage Instructions
Unopened Pens: Store in the refrigerator between 2°C and 8°C (36°F to 46°F). Do not freeze.
Pen in Use: Can be stored at room temperature (up to 30°C / 86°F) or in the refrigerator for a maximum of 6 weeks.
Keep the pen cap on when not in use to protect the medicine from light.
